Evidence & Safety

How ColourRise aligns with NDIS Item 0112 (Wellbeing & Capacity-Building Supports)

ColourRise may be suitable for purchase under NDIS Item 0112, where it supports a participant’s goals related to emotional regulation, independence and wellbeing. Use is always subject to individual plan goals and approval by the participant’s plan manager or support coordinator.

ColourRise supports NDIS goals by:

  • Supporting emotional regulation
ColourRise provides structured, calming activities that assist participants to self-regulate, reduce emotional overload and manage stress in daily life.
  • Building functional capacity through routine
The program encourages regular engagement, helping participants develop predictable, self-directed wellbeing routines that support independence.
  • Promoting non-verbal self-expression
ColourRise is accessible for participants who find verbal communication challenging, including many autistic and psychosocial disability participants.
  • Encouraging self-management strategies
Participants use ColourRise independently or with minimal support, aligning with capacity-building and self-management goals rather than reliance on ongoing direct supports.
  • Providing a low-risk, low-intensity wellbeing support
ColourRise is gentle, trauma-aware and suitable as an adjunct to existing supports, rather than a clinical or therapeutic intervention.
  • Usable across environments
ColourRise can be used at home, in supported accommodation, community settings, or alongside support workers, increasing flexibility and continuity of care.

Important NDIS note:

ColourRise is an evidence-informed wellbeing support, not a clinical therapy or medical treatment.

NDIS funding decisions are based on individual plans, goals and reasonable and necessary criteria.

Participants should confirm suitability with their plan manager or support coordinator prior to purchase.
